Chaunte Howard Lowe

Chaunte Howard Lowe
Track and Field, U.S.

Chaunté Howard Lowe, a former Tech track and field athlete, graduated in 2008 with a degree in economics and finance and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Athletics Hall of Fame in 2015. She will compete in the high jump for the U.S. at this year’s games, which will be her fourth Olympics.

Matt Kuchar

Matt Kuchar
Golf, U.S.

Matt Kuchar, former Tech golfer who won The Players Championship in 2012, will play for the U.S. in the first Olympics featuring golf in 112 years. He is ranked No. 15 in the world and was inducted into the Georgia Tech Athletics Hall of Fame in 2010.

Gal Nevo

Gal Nevo
Swimming, Israel

Gal Nevo, who studied economics, will swim for Israel. This will be his third Olympics.

Keren Siebner

Keren Siebner
Swimming, Israel

Keren Siebner, who studied industrial and systems engineering, will swim for Israel. This will be her first Olympic appearance.

Andrew Chetcuti

Andrew Chetcuti
Swimming, Malta

Andrew Chetcuti graduated in May with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He will also serve as flag bearer for Malta during the 2016 Opening Ceremonies.

Alade Aminu

Alade Aminu
Basketball, Nigeria

Alade Aminu graduated in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in management. He also played for Nigeria in the London Olympics in 2012.

Christopher George

Christopher George
Judo, Trinidad and Tobago

Christopher George, who studied chemical and biomolecular engineering, is the first national of Trinidad and Tobago to qualify for the Olympics in judo.

2016 Paralympic Games

The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will take place from Sept. 7 to 18. Georgia Tech will have two athletes taking part in events during those games.

Steven Bohlemann, a graduate student in mechanical engineering, will compete as midfielder for U.S. Soccer’s Men’s Paralympic National Team.

Cassie Mitchell

Track and Field, U.S.

Cassie S. Mitchell, assistant research professor in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, will compete for the U.S. Paralympic Track and Field Team. She set two new world records for the 100-meter wheel chair race and 400-meter wheel chair race at the U.S. trials in July.
