Georgia Tech Grad Student Wins National Triathlon Title

ME grad student Chris Douglas wins the USA Triathlon Sprint National Championships in Omaha.

Mechanical engineering grad student Christopher Douglas topped the field at the 2016 USA Triathlon Sprint National Championships, winning his first ever overall national title.

Douglas posted the fastest time from a field of over 1,300 athletes. The Sprint National Championships consists of a 750-meter swim, 20-kilometer bike and 5-kilometer run. Only a day prior, Douglas finished second overall in the Olympic-distance race

Douglas is a research assistant in the Ben T. Zinn Combustion Laboratory at Georgia Tech. He also trains and competes with the Georgia Tech Triathlon Team.
