Cherry Knox Named GTRI Communications Director

GTRI Director Andrew Gerber announced that Cherry Z. Knox, (prounounced "Sherry") will join GTRI on April 18 as the new Director of Communications.

Georgia Tech Research Institute Director Andrew Gerber announced that Cherry Z. Knox, (prounounced "Sherry") will join GTRI on April 18 as the new Director of Communications.

In this role, Knox will help craft communications strategies and products to support GTRI’s research mission, advance our outward-facing presence, build sponsor and community excitement about our work, and strengthen GTRI’s ties across the rest of Georgia Tech. She will serve as the primary interface with Georgia Tech’s Institute Communications organization in aligning strategic and tactical messaging across Georgia Tech. 

Knox comes to GTRI with broad experience across several business segments, including consumer products, food and beverage and insurance. She has most recently served as the senior director of Marketing, Strategy and Planning for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.  She holds a bachelor of science degree in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Tennessee and an MBA in Marketing degree from the University of Memphis.
