MLK Day of Service, Microsoft Chairman and CEO Receives Honorary Degree, and Basketball

Veterans Walk of Honor display

On Jan. 10, the Veterans Resource Center, within Arts, Belonging, and Community, hosted the Veterans Walk of Honor ceremony that included guest speakers, a performance from University of North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Rifle Team, and concluded with the unveiling of the Veterans Walk of Honor display. The installation, located in front of the Veterans Resource Center, highlights the dedication of veterans who have served in the Armed Forces and acknowledges Georgia Tech’s military history. Focus Fellows and Focus Scholars

Jan. 11–14, Georgia Tech hosted Focus, a four-day immersive program to recruit the nation’s top diverse talent to pursue graduate studies and careers in academia. This year’s event included the largest cohort of Focus Fellows in recent history, with 30 fellows, as well as 170 Focus Scholars from 83 colleges and universities. MLK Day of Service at Oakland Cemetery

The MLK Day of Service brought together volunteers to participate in a variety of community service projects with Oakland Cemetery, Kirkwood Urban Forest Preserve, Trees Atlanta, and Georgia Tech’s Students' Temporary Assistance and Resources (STAR) program. Arts Day at the Library

The Georgia Tech Library and Interdisciplinary Media Arts Center presented Media Arts Day on Jan. 18 in various locations throughout the Library. The event celebrated new ways of learning and creating knowledge at the intersection of arts and technology.
