The first day of the spring semester marks a new beginning for Tech students new and old — so why not say hello to someone new?

Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) will host Ramble In, a campuswide event, on Monday, Jan. 6, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to stop by a location on campus to pick up a nametag, put it on, and then say hello to someone new as they go about their day.

“We want to break down the barriers between students, faculty, and staff, and help open up communication among everyone on campus,” said Michael Xiao, a computer science major and secretary of ODK. “An overarching theme is inclusiveness and providing a welcoming environment for new students.” The event also serves as a kind of opening for Tech students’ college careers, which many conclude by celebrating at the Ramblin’ On event just before graduation.

During Ramble In, look for free hot chocolate, cookies, and a raffle for Georgia Tech lapel pins.

Nametag tables will be set up at the first floor entrance of Clough Commons (near the bus turnaround) and on Tech Walkway near the Kessler Campanile.
