Chief Technology Officer Search Underway
Interim Senior Vice President for Administration Mark Demyanek has named a 14-person search committee to recommend candidates for chief technology officer (CTO) of Georgia Tech. The panel, comprised of leaders in the academic, research, and IT communities, will advise Administration and Finance leadership on a top candidate.
The newly created CTO role will lead the development and growth of research technology, academic technology, and enterprise innovation IT programs at Georgia Tech. The CTO will serve as part of the OIT senior leadership team, reporting to the vice president for Information Technology and chief information officer and partnering with academic and research programs to establish and implement long-term strategy in the areas of digital learning and research computing.
“We believe it is important at this time to proceed with the search for the new CTO in order to keep our momentum in the rapidly evolving IT arena and to provide critical connectivity across our academic and research IT enterprise,” Demyanek said.
The national search will be chaired by Lew Lefton, associate vice president for Research Computing in the Office of the Executive Vice President for Research and assistant dean of Information Technology in the College of Sciences.
"By collaborating with academic and research units across all of Georgia Tech's campuses, the CTO will develop important relationships and have an opportunity to strategically impact the core mission of the Institute," said Lefton.
