Change in Leadership Announced for Institute Communications

Michael Warden removed as vice president for Institute Communications August 24.

Georgia Institute of Technology President G.P. “Bud” Peterson announced that effective at the close of business on August 24, Michael Warden will be removed as vice president for Institute Communications. Michael’s last date of employment with the Institute will be September 14, 2018.  Until that time, Michael will continue to report to President Peterson and work on special projects.

Dene Sheheane will assume the responsibilities associated with the vice president for Institute Communications along with those of his current role as vice president for Government and Community Relations until further notice.  Over the course of the next several months we will review the current structure, organization and leadership of the office of Institute Communications.

Beginning August 27, Lance Wallace, director of Media Relations and Issues Management, will begin serving as interim associate vice chancellor for communications for the University System of Georgia. Lance will return to Georgia Tech at the conclusion of this assignment. During the interim, media inquiries to the Institute should be directed to Sheheane.
