Georgia Tech Ranks Sixth Globally for Engineering

In the 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Georgia Institute of Technology is among global leaders in engineering and other fields.
According to the 2014 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Georgia Tech's engineering programs are sixth best in the world. Several other Georgia Tech programs rank in the top 50.

According to the latest edition of the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the Georgia Institute of Technology is the sixth-ranked engineering university in the world.

Georgia Tech is the highest ranked Georgia university on the list. In addition, it is ranked 19th in the world for computer science and 23rd for chemistry. For overall science programs, Georgia Tech ranked 40th in the world according to the ARWU. Georgia Tech’s mathematics programs came in at number 41 in the world, and business programs ranked in the top 75.

Several indicators are used to differentiate the world’s institutions of higher education, including cited researchers, staff and faculty honors, and per capita performance. These rankings, which have been compiled since 2003 by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, are also broken down across disciplines and fields, including engineering, medicine, business, and science majors.
