With Independence Day falling on a Wednesday this year, some festivities are starting this weekend. Plenty more take place on the holiday itself. If you’re looking to enjoy fireworks or other events around Atlanta, here are a few options.

Starting this weekend:

Six Flags Coca-Cola July 4 Fest: The holiday celebration at Six Flags Over Georgia runs June 30 through July 4 with exclusive ride time promotions, foam parties, and fireworks.

Stone Mountain Park: The Fantastic Fourth Celebration runs July 1–7 with fireworks following the Lasershow Spectacular every night.

Day-of events:

AJC Peachtree Road Race: Cheer on runners along the route as it climbs through Buckhead and Midtown on July 4, ending in Piedmont Park.

Skyline Park Rooftop Backyard Luau: This all-ages event atop Ponce City Market will feature food, drink, live music, and fireworks, as well as the park’s regular rides and attractions.

Georgia Aquarium’s Red, White, and Brew: This annual event, for those of legal age, features beer, cider, barbecue, and, of course, lots of animals.
