OIT Warns of Latest Phishing Attack

To the recipient, the phishing email appears to originate from a copier within an individual’s department or school.

The Office of Information Technology is reporting at least one college at Georgia Tech has been victimized by a sophisticated phishing attack that has been broadly directed at multiple universities.

To the recipient, the phishing email appears to originate from a copier within an individual’s department or school. If the attachment is opened, it could potentially compromise the computer.

Any member of the faculty or staff who opened the attachment should immediately reach out to their Unit Computer Support Representative (CSR). Students who may have received it should reach out to the TSC for support.
