Fraternity Cited for Conduct Violations

The Georgia Delta chapter of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity has been found responsible for violations under the Student Code of Conduct and received the sanction of suspension held in abeyance until August 9, 2016.

The decision stems from an investigation by the Office of Student Integrity (OSI) as the result of a student complaint. In its decision, OSI said the chapter was found to be responsible for violating sections of the Code addressing discriminatory conduct.

During suspension in abeyance, the chapter is restricted to academic activities and approved non-academic activities, which include recruiting new members, holding meetings to conduct chapter business, and service activities. The chapter may neither participate in Greek Week or Homecoming nor host, co-host, or participate in social events on campus, with or without alcohol.

As part of the terms for lifting the suspension, chapter members also will be required to complete specified education and training.
