Campus Groups Lead Observance of Veterans Day

Several groups will host events that are open to everyone on campus, and Tech veterans will be participating in citywide events as well.

As the nation commemorates its service men and women on Nov. 11, Georgia Tech will join in honoring those affiliated with Tech who have served.

Veterans Day Parade

Saturday, Nov. 8, 11:11 a.m.
Downtown Atlanta

Veterans Day Run

Tuesday, Nov. 11, 6 a.m.
Georgia Tech Campus

Run the Tyler Brown Pi Mile with campus veterans. The run begins at Callaway Plaza at the north end of Bobby Dodd Stadium. 

Veterans Day Ceremony

Tuesday, Nov. 11, 11 a.m.
Tech Tower Lawn

Ceremony will include the Honorary Eleven Whistle Blows commemorating the end of WWI. All are welcome to attend to honor U.S. airmen, soldiers, sailors, and marines. 

Veterans Resource Center Open House

Wednesday, Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to noon
Room 217B, Smithgall Student Services (Flag) Building

The Center will celebrate its one-year anniversary with an open house. Meet David Ross, director of the Center, and join him in reflecting on the past year and planning for the future.

American Long Rifle Exhibit

Thursday, Nov. 13
Georgia Tech Research Institute Conference Center

Join the Georgia Tech Military Affinity Group (GTMAG) for mingling, refreshments, and a presentation from two experts on the American Long Rifle that includes viewing some of the most prized antique 18th and 19th century rifles.
